یوں اکیلے میں اسے عہدِوفا یاد آئے
جیسے بندے کو مصیبت میں خدا یاد آئے

جیسے بھٹکے ہوئے پنچھی کو نشیمن اپنا
جیسے اپنوں کے بچھڑنے پہ دعا یادآئے

جیسے ڈھلتی ہوئی شاموں کو سویرا کوئی
جیسے پنجرے میں پرندے کو فضا یاد آئے

جیسے بوڑھے کو خیالات میں بچپن اپنا
جیسے بچے کو شرارت پہ سزا یاد آئے

جیسے اُجڑی ہوئی بستی کو زمانہ اپنا
جیسے طوفان کے ٹھہرنے پہ دیا یاد آئے
