Talab ko ajar na doon, fikar-e-rahguzar na karoon!
Safar main ab ke hawa ko bhi hamsafar na karoon

Ubhartay doobtay sooraj se torr loon rishta
Main sham orh ke so jaon aur sahar na karoon

Ab is se barh ke bhala kya ho ehtiyat-e-wafa
Main tere sheher se guzroon, tujhe khaber na karoon!

Ye meray dard ki daulat, meri maata-e-firaaq
In ansu’on ki wazahat main umer bhar na kroon!

Ujar shab ki khalish ban ke bun main kho jaoon
Main chandni ki terha khud ko derbader na karoon!

Wo aik pal ko dikhai to de kaheen Mohsin
Main jan gunwa ke bhi us pal ko mukhtasir na karoon!
