کسی سے بھی محبت تھی نہیں اس کو
وہ اپنی ذات سے خود عشق میں مصروف تھا اتنا
اسے اطراف میں پھیلی محبت ڈھونگ لگتی تھی
وہ بس اپنی ہی خاطر زندگی کو جینا چاہتا تھا
بڑھایا ہاتھ جو میری طرف اس نے تو
میں محسوس کر بیٹھی ”اسے مجھ سے محبت ہے“
مگر تب بھی حقیقت میں کہیں ایسا نہیں تھاکچھ فقط
یہ ہی حقیقت تھی
وہ میری ذات میں اپنی خوشی کی جستجو میں تھا
کہ اس نے آنکھ میں میری دھنک سے رنگ دیکھے تھے
کہ اس کو لمس میں میرے مہکتے پھول ملتے تھے
کہ اس کی ہر خوشی ہر مسکراہٹ پر
جو اپنی جان دے دیتی وہ فقط میری ہی ہستی تھی
”اسے بس خود سے محبت تھی“
سو میری ان نگاہوں میں وہ تکتا تھا شبیہ اپنی
میں اس کی اک ذرا سی ضد کو
اس کا عشق سمجھی تھی
نہیں تھا عشق وہ اُس کا
فقط اک شائبہ تھا وہ محبت
