Aaaj kerne the mujhe us yaar se raz-o-niyaaz
Aaaj yakja ho gaye the dil main mere soz-o-saaz
Aaaj the kehne mujhe jo bhi the mere dil main raaz
Per raqeeboon ne sanam se ker liye kuch saaz baaz

aur ye tasweer jazboon ki adhori reh gai
Istarah tabeer khaboon ki adhori reh gaye

Aaj main nikla tha ghar se dhondne us ka pata
Soochta tha mil ke koh doon jo ho kehne bermala
Per meri taqdeer ne mujh se bara dhoka kiya
yaar ke ghar per raqeeboon ka laga tha jhamghata

aur ye tasweer jazboon ki adhori reh gai
Istarah tabeer khaboon ki adhori reh gaye

Raat thi taroon bhari aur her taraf thi chandni
Har taraf bajne lagi the chahtoon ki raagni
par gai mujh ko mager dil ki khuahish maarni
Aaa gae jo sir pe biwi ur gae wo moorni

aur ye tasweer jazboon ki adhori reh gai
istarah taabir khaboon ki adhori reh gae...
