Add a Shutdown Tile to Metro



Navigate to:C:\Users\/[USERID]/\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

Right-Click & select New -> Shortcut

Type the location of the item: C:\Windows\System32\shutdown.exe /s /t 0

Click Next

Type a name for this shortcut: Shutdown NOW!

Click Finish

Press Windows Key to return to Start Page

Right-Click on the new tile

Click Open file location

Click Change Icon

Click OK when you get the error message.

Click the Shutdown Icon

Click OK

Click Apply

Click OK

- Adds a “Start” menu to the Windows 8 taskbar
- Enables quick access and searching of your installed applications
- Adds Run... option via right-click menu
- Adds Shutdown... option via right-click menu
- Choose a custom Start button image

Automatically Save Screenshots

Press and Hold the Windows Key and press PrtSc/Print Screen it will automatically save the picture to "My Pictures.

By Default the Windows 8 boots to Metro UI, If you want Windows 8 to open up to Classic Desktop instead on the Metro UI.
Create a Shortcut to Desktop on Startup folder.


Go to Startup folder on Windows 8

Right click and create new shortcut

Type in C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe shell:::{3080F90D-D7AD-11D9-BD98-0000947B0257}

Click next and Finish.
