Wajood apna, no Rooh apni,
bus aik tamasha _e_zeest thehri..

na dil lagi mai sakoon paya,
na Aashique mai qaraar paya..

na wasal lamhay hi raas aye,
na firaaq hi hum guzar paye.

ajab ya chahat ky marhalay hain,
na jeet paye, na haar paye..

na hi yaadoon ki dhund utri
na dil kay da’aman ko jhaar paye..

na ankhain khowaaboon ko dhoond payin,
na khowab ankhoo ko dhoond paye

bus aik tamasha_e_zeest thehri,
Wajood apna, na rooh apni..!!
