یاد ماضی میں جو آنکھوں کو سزا دی جائے
اس سے بہتر ہے کہ ہر بات بھلا دی جائے
جس سے تھوڑی سی بھی امید زیادہ ہو کھبی

ایسی ہر شمع سر شام بجھا دی جائے
میں نے اپنوں کے رویوں سے یہ محسوس کیا
دل کے آنگن میں بھی دیوار اٹھا دی جائے

میں نے یاروں کے بچھڑنے سے یہ سیکھا محسن
اپنے دشمن کو بھی جینے کی دعا دی جائے
