Usay hansnay ki aadat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha

Mujhay us nay kaha aao nai dunya basatay hain
Usay soojhi shararat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha

Hamesha us ki aankhon main dhanak kay rang hotay thay
Ye us ki aam aadat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha

Woh meray pass bethi dair tuk ghazlain meri sunti
Uaay khud say muhabbat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha

Meray kandhay pe sir rukh ker kaheen kho gai thi wo
Yeh ik waqti inayat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha

Mujhay wo daikh ker aksar nigahain phair leti thi
Yeh dur perda haqarat thi, yeh dil kuch aur samjha tha
