Kabhi tu ne bhi socha hai k ye pyaas hai to kyun hai?
Tujhy Paa k bhi mera dil jo udaas hai to kyun hai?
Mujhy kyun aziz tarr hai ye dhua’n dhua’n sa mosam
Ye hawa-e-shaam-e-hijraa’n mujhy raas hai tou kyun hai?
Tujhy Kho k sochta hun, Meray daman-e-talab mein
Koi Khuwab hai to kyun hai, koi aas hai tou kyun hai?
Mein ujjar k bhi hoon tera, tou bicharr k bhi hai mera
Ye yaqeen hai to kyun hai, ye qayaas hai to kyun hai?
Mery tan-bar’hana dushman isi gham mein ghul rahy hain
K mery badan pe saalam, ye libaas hai to kyun hai?
Kabhi pooch us k dil se k ye khush mizaaj shayar
Apni shayari mein jo udaas hai to kyun hai?
Tera kis ne dil bujhaya, Mery ‘Aitbaar Sajid’
Ye charagh-e-hijr ab tak, teray paas hai to kyun hai ? ?
