Zinda dil hain hans kar do ghum seh lenge,
Har ghum mein uska saath ho yeh zaroori to nahi,

Yun to woh bohat wafashaar hain magar phir bhi,
Har kadam pe wafa karein yeh zaroori to nahi,

Hausle aur bhi bhar jayenge shikast ke baad,
Jeet yahan sada hamari ho yeh zaroori to nahi,

Shiddat-e-Gham mein insaan ro bhi deta hai,
Samne uska aanchal ho yeh zaroori to nahi,

Nazrein thi bas kya karti patthar ho gayee,
Uske baad kisi aur ko dekhein yeh zaroori to nahi,

Hum ne hamesha use dil se chaha,
Woh bhi hamein chahe dil se yeh zaroori to nahi
