Khud apne dil k haath se majboor bohat thay
Jo qurbatoN k daur mein bhi door bohat thay

Ham ne to kuchal Daala tha apni anaa ka sar
Wo phir bhi,Khuda jaane kyuN,maghroor bohat thay

Chaaha tha dil-e-zaar ki haalat bayaaN karein
Dekha to palaT aaye,wo masroor bohat thay

Ji chaahta tha khud se munsalik har aik baat
Khud tak hi rakhte ham magar mash-hoor bohat thay

Alfaaz ki gehraai ko kya maapte k ham
Lehje ki mai-e-mast se makhmoor bohat thay

Wo beech raah cHoR k rasta badal gaya
Goya hamaari ghalatiyaaN,qusoor bohat thay

Lab muskura diye magar aankhoN ne keh diya
Ham uss k haal-e-zaar pe ranjoor bohat thay
