Rooh bechain he ek dil ki aziyat kia he
Dil hi shola he to phir sooz-e-mohabbat kia he
Wo mujhe bhool gayi es ki shikayat kia he
ranj to yea he ke roo roo ke bhulaya hoga

Jhuk gai hogi jawan saal umangoon ki jabin
Chah gaya hoga dhowan ghoom gai hogi zameen
Mit gai hogi lalek , Doob gaya hoga yakeen
Aap ne pehle gharondey ko jo dhaya hoga

Dil ne kuch aese bhi afsaane sunaye honge
Ashk aankhoon ne piye or na bahaye honge
Band kamrey me jo khat mere jalaye honge
Har taraf mujh ko tarapta howa paya hoga

Tum ne ghabra ke nazer laakh bachai hogi
Maiz se jab meri tasweer hatayee hogi
Shadyaanon me meri yaad jo aai hogi
Sar na kandhey se sahailee key hataya hoga
