Zamane se suna tha k muhabbat haar jati hai,
Jo chahat ek tarf ho wo chahat haar jati hai,

Kahin per dua ka ik lafz bhi asar kar jata hai,
Kahin barson ki ebadat bhi haar jati hai,

Muhabbat kab kisi ko dushmani ka dars deti hai,
Muhabbat ki bazi mein adawat haar jati hai,

Hame kitne bhi shikwe hon uski jafaon k,
Per us k samne her ek shikayat haar jati hai,

Ik arzo si hai k usko bhool jaen hum,
Per uski yaad aaty hi ye hasrat haar jati hai
