Daagh-e-dil ham ko yaad aane lage
aap kyouN bilawajah shermane lage

aur bhi dukh haiN shairy ke siwa
aap kya roti huwi ghazal sunane lage

abay pehle khood tu shairi seekh ke aa
kal ke bache ham ko shairy sikhane lage

dil ki her dhadkN ke saath jaan tum yad aati ho
jab aankh paDkhii tu tumhare aboo yad aane lage

toba re husan-e-yaar ki ranginyaaN na pooch
ek zoja ke hote huwe dosri ke khaab aane lage
