Windows 7 - Make a bootable usb drive




Create a usb pendrive Windows 7 boot disk

You need a usb drive over 4 gig Windows 7 dvd

Open up a cmd prompt as an admin user then in the box making sure your usb is connected.

Type these command press return after each one.

Diskpart

List disk

Find your usb drive from the list be sure you get the right one.

Select disk number of pendrive

Clean

Create partition primary

Select partition 1

Active

Format fs=ntfs

Assign

Exit

Put you windows 7 dvd in to the drive

Open a cmd prompt again

Type drive letter of the dvd ie:

D:
Cd\boot
Bootsec.exe /nt60 pendrive letter ie e:

Now copy all the dvd to the pendrive



Jobs now done set your pc/netbook to boot from usb and insert you pendrive and install Windows 7 as normal.
