janay kyu shikast ka azaab liyay phirta ho
mai kia ho or kia khowaab liyay phirta ho

os nay ek baar kia tha sawaal-e- muhaabat
mai har lamha wafa ka jawab liyay phirta ho

os nay poocha kab say nahi soyay
mai tab say raat jaagnay ka hisaab liyay phirta ho

os ki khowahish thi meri ankho mai paani dekhay
mai os waqt say aanso ka saylaab liyay phirta ho

afsoos kay woh phir bhi mera na howa faraz
mai jis ki aarzoo ki kitaab liayay phirta ho
