Aankh ban jati hai sawan ki ghata shaam ke baad
laut jata hai agar koi khafa shaam ke baad

Aahein bharta hai shab-e Hijar yateemon ki tarah
Sard ho jati hai har roz hawa shaam ke baad

Log thak haar k so jaate hain lekin janaan
hum ne khush ho k tera dard saha shaam k baad

Khuwab takra ke palat jaatay hain band aankhon se
Jaane kiss jurm ki kiss ko hai saza shaam k baad

Hum ne tanhaai se pooccha k milo gi kab tak
uss ne bay chaini se forun yeh kaha shaam k baad

main agar khush bhi rahoon phir bhi mere seenay main
sogwarai koi roti hai sada shaam k baad

Maar deta hai ujar jane ka dohra ehsaas
kaash ho koi kisi se na juda shaam ke baad
