Ye nahi ke saare jahan men mujhe humsafar nahi mila
Sabhi Aitabar ke sath the koi muatabar nahi mila

Meri nabz choo ke to dekhta ke shikasta dil ki sada hai kya
Mera la-ilaaj marz na tha, koi charagar hi nahi mila

Kabhi sheher chaan liye gaye kahin khaimey taan liye gaye
Jise dekhta tha men khwaab men, mujhe wo nagar hi nahi mila

Mujhe wo makee'n hi nahi mile jinhen meri zaat se piar ho
Jise apna ghar men samajh sakoon, mujhe aisa ghar hi nahi mila

Raha muztarib mera shoq bhi, mera sajda karne ka zauq bhi
Mujhe sang-e-rah to bohut mile, tera sang-e-dar nahi mila

Sabhi apne apne giroh ke, ghum arzoo ka shikar the
Kise men dikhata ye zakhm-e-dil, koi deeda-war hi nahi mila

Kabhi zindagi me kisik liay mut rona**
q k vo''tumhare ansoun k kabil nahi ho ga''
or ''vo'' jo is ''kabil'' ho ga vo tumhe ''rone'' nahi de ga''*****
