humain koi Gham nahin tha Gham-e-ashiqi se pehle
na thii dushmanii kisii se terii dostii se pehle

hai ye merii badnaseebii teraa kyaa qasoor iss mein
tere Gham ne maar Daalaa mujhe zindagii se pehle
…
meraa pyaar jal rahaa hai aye chaand aaj chhup jaa
kabhii pyaar thaa hamein bhii terii chaandni se pehle

main kabhii na muskuraataa jo mujhe ye ilam hotaa
ke hazaaron Gham milenge mujhe ik Khushii se pehle

ye ajeeb imtehaan hai ke tumhii ko bhoolnaa hai
mile kab they iss tarah ham tumhein bedilii se pehle
