Yeh ajib shahar e nigar hai

koi naznin na ada koi
kahin dhoop hai na ghata koi
koi hamsafar na juda koi
koi hijir hai na jafa koi
yeh ajib shahar e nigar hai

na who dagh e dil na who ghao hai
na singhar hai na banao hai
shab e wasal hai na alao hai
kahin beher hai na bahao hai
na adoo koi na lagao hai
na woh lashkaron ka parao hai
yeh ajib shahar e nigar hai

kahin shakh hai to samar nahin
kahin ankh hai to nazar nahin
kahin hath hai to honar nahin
kahin bat hai to asar nahin
kahin raste men shajar nahin
kisi chara gar ko khabar nahin
yeh ajib shahar e nigar hai
