sawad-e-zindagni main

ek esi shaam aati hay

ke jis kay sarmai anchal main

koi phool hota hay

na hathon nain koi tara!

jo aa kar bazoun main tham le

phir bi

rag-o-pay main koi aahat nahin hoti

kisi ki yaad ati hay

na koi bhool pata hay

na koi gham sulagta hay

na koi zakham silta hay

gally milta hay koi khuab

na koi tamna hath milti hay

sawad-e-zindagi main

ek esi shaam ati hay

jo khali hath ati hay!
