qareeb maut khari hai zara thahar jao
qazaa se aankh lari hai zara thahar jao

thaki thaki si fazaayen bujhe bujhe taare
bari udaas ghari hai zara thahar jao

nahin umeed ki ham aaj ki sahar dekhen
ye raat ham pe kari hai zara thahar jao

abhi na jao ke taaron kaa dil dharaktaa hai
tamaam raat pari hai zara thahar jao

phir is ke baad kabhi ham na tum ko rokenge
labon pe saans ari hai zara thahar jao

dam-e-firaaq mein ji bhar ke tum ko dekh to loon
ye faisale kii ghari hai zara thahar jao
