bey rabt si tehreer ibarat nhi hoti
haathon ki lakeeron may to kismat nhi hoti

sajde may ho dikhawa to sajda nhi hota
gardan k jhukane se ibadat nhi hoti

wo shakhs muhabbat k hota nhi qabil
jis shakhs may auron ki muhabbat nhi hoti

chehre k singhar se kuch hota nhi hasil
seerat k bina to koi surat nhi hoti

shahkar ki tasveer may shamil na ho gar fikr
surat to ban jati hai murat nhi hoti
