jamdani is believed to be a fusion of the ancient cloth-making techniques of bangal; parhaps 2000 years old. The Mughal emperor, the Nawab of bangal, and their aristrocrates used to engage agents at Dhaka(now the capital city of Bangladesh) to buy high quality Muslin and Jamdani for their masters use











The expert weavers do not need to draw the design on a paper. they do it from their memory, imagination. A good piece of Jamdani Saree need the labor of two to three months.
