Main nay sooraj ko cheel ker jaana
Roshni ki kiran nikaali thi
Dekhtay dekhtay mera sooraj
Naakhunon say teek teek sa gaya
Jaatay jaatay zara lapak sa gaya

Jaatay jaatay bhi aasmaanon per
Aik sooraj bana gaya chaala
Zerd sooraj tha ho gaya kaala !

Ik kiran roknay ki khuwaahish mein
Aik sooraj ka khoon kiya main nay !
Koi samjhaaye kiun kiya main nay ?

Her taraf khaamoshi ka jungal hai
Phir kaheen raat ugnay waali hai
Aik jungal hai ik sawaali hai
Or hathayli kiran say khaali hai !
