ye tamaasha dekh kar ham aaina-bezaar haiN
jinke chehre hii nahiiN vo aaina-bardaar haiN

shamaa roshan kar rahe haiN taajiraan-e-tiirgi
kyaa anokhii daastaaN hai, kyaa ajab kirdaar haiN

Ai merii jamhuuriyat! terii kahaanii hai ajiib
qaail-e-nafrat haiN jo, vo saahab-e-dastaar haiN

muddatoN se so rahe haiN ham hisaar-e-zaat meN
aur ye da'ava bhii hai 'bedaar the, bedaar haiN'

aap Aalam paidaloN kii chaal se ghabraa gaye
asp, kashtii, fiil, farziiN, sab pas-e-diivaar haiN......
