میں شاعر ہوں تو اکثر لوگ مجھ سے پوچھتے ہیں
محبت اٌخرش ہے کیا؟
وصی میں ہنس کے کہتا ہوں
کسی پیاسے کو اپنے حصے کا پانی پلانا بھی محبت ہے
بھنور میں ڈوبتے کو ساحلوں تک لے کے جانا بھی محبت ہے
کہیں ہم، راز سارے کھول سکتے ہوں مگر پھر بھی
کسی کی بے بسی کو دیکھ کر خاموش رہ جانا محبت ہے
کسی کے واسطے جبراً ہی ہونٹوں پر ہنسی لانا محبت ہے
کہیں بارش میں میں سہمے ، بھیگتے بلی کے بچے کو
ذرا سی دیر کو گھر لے کے اٌنا بھی محبت ہے
کوئی چڑیا جو کمرے میں بھٹکتی اٌن نکلی ہو تو اس چڑیا کو
پنکھے بند کرکے راستہ باہر کا دکھلانا محبت ہے
محبت کے ہزاروں رنگ ، لاکھوں استعارے ہیں
کسی بھی رنگ میں ہو یہ
مجھے اپنا بناتی ہے
-یہ میرے دل کا بھاتی ہے
