His name was Abdul Rahman, one of the greatest poet in the history of the Pashto literature. Abdul Rahman was a man of character and great charisma. As a child, he loved to study and always occupied himself in getting a good education.

Shakespeare has mentioned that philosophers, poets and insane people are ofone nature. A person cannot become one of these just by trying, but they areborn that way and they have no choice other then to live by the nature of theirlife. After looking through Rahman Baba's poetry, one comes to the conclusion thatthis great poet was born a poet and had brought the gift of poetry with him frometernal life. Readers will not understand his poetry unless they feel that whattheir reading is indeed their own thoughts. This might be hard to comprehendbut poetry was never meant to be easy. When one opens Rahman Baba's book, theyimmediately realize that their heart is speaking to them.

ګومان مه کړه چی به بیا سترګو له درشې
.. هغه اوښکې چی له سترګو شی جدا
Don’t imagine they will come back to your eyes,
the tears that your eyes have shed
Tasawoor na karo ke Phir ankhon ko ayengi
woh ansoo Jo ankho se ho Jaaye Juda.


که دیدن د دوي دی خوښ وی ورته ګوره
... چی فنا شی بیا به کله شی پیدا
If you like their looks gaze at them,
for once they are gone never will they come again.
agar on ka didar pasand ho tu dekhte raho
agar panah ho jaye tu phir kab honge paida


په رحمان باندې دا عمر هسی تیر شو
.. لکه تیر شی یو ساعت(ساهت) په دی دنیا
Thus has life passed by Rahman;
As a single moment spent in this world
Rahman pe ye zindagi aise guzri
Jaise guzra ho ek lamha es donya may
