Meri zindagi bhi meri nahi ye hazaar khanon mai but gai
Mujhay ek muthi zameen day ye zameen kitni simat gai

Teri yaad aye to chup rahoon zara chup rahoon to ghazal kahoon
Ye ajab aag ki bail thi meray tan badan say lipat gai

Mujhay likhnay wala likhay bhi kya, mujhay parhnay wala parhay bhi kya
Jahan mera naam likha gya waheen roshnaye ulat gai

Na koi khushi na malal hai keh sabhi ka ek sa haal hai
Tery sukh kay din bhi guzar gaye meri gham ki raat bhi cut gai

Meri bund palkon pay toot kar koi phool raat bikhar gya
Mujhay siskio'n nay jaga diya meri kachi neend bhi uchut gai

Kabhi zindagi me kisik liay mut rona**
