Oh, how I need the rain from Heaven,
My soul feels so empty and dry,
There are stormy clouds all around me,
The only water is from tears I cry.
Dear God send water to refresh this hurting soul,
I beg for your forgiveness, to cleanse and make me whole.

My valleys have been too long to travel,
My mountains too high to climb,
I feel I have failed in my duties,
I need to know You are mine.
To feel your blessings surround me,
To hear your whisper in my ear,
The warmth I feel when you are with me,
Gives me assurance you are here,

Father, send the rain, the cleansing rain,
To wash me clean again,
So I can rejoice in your blessings
And your happiness in me begin.

So Father, send your rain, your cleansing rain,
To cleanse others the same as me.
Wash us clean, so when we open our eyes,
It is only You we’ll see.

I am waiting Lord for your Spirit to rain own upon
us and soak our souls with Your loving kindness,
drench us in the waters of love and life.
Amen.
