Aaj Rootha hua ik dost bahut yaad aaya
Acha guzara hua kuch waqt bahut yaad aaya

Jo har lamha meri salaamati ki dua karta tha
aaj ek thokar lagi to bahut yaad aaya

Meri khushi mein apni khushi talaashta tha jo
aaj yeh ek hasi par woh bahut yaad aaya

Ek ashk se mere jaise thehar jaati thi uski duniya
aaj ek aansoo aankh mein aaya to woh bahut yaad aaya

Jise is dil ke kareeb paaya itna
aaj kuch door gaya to bahut yaad aaya

Mere wajood se hi mehak uth_ti thi duniya uski
aaj ek phool khila to woh bahut yaad aaya

Har mushkil mein jo saath tha mere saaya bankar
aaj dil zara pareshaan hua to woh bahut yaad aaya

Zindagi ki dhoop mein jo jalta tha yeh badan
aaj jab ise barsaat ne chua to woh bahut yaad aaya

Aaj Rootha hua ik dost bahut yaad aaya
Acha guzara hua kuch waqt bahut yaad aaya........
