Kabhi Dagh-e-Dil ne jala dia,

Aay junoon-e-Ishq Bata Zara,

Mujhe kion Tamasha bana dia?

Gham-e-Ishq kitna ajeeb hay

Ye junoon se kitna Qareeb hay,

Kabhi Ashk palkon pe ruk gaye,

Kabhi poora darya baha dia,

Abhi ker rha hay wo ibtida,

Mera kah rha hay ye tajruba,

Usay zindagi ki hay aarzu,

Mujhay zindage ne mitaa dia,

Jo ruke tu koh e garan thay hum

Jo chalay tu jaan se guzar gay
