Woh jo daway-daar hai shehar ka, k main sub he ka nabz shanaas hoon
Kabhi aa k mujh say bhi pochta k mian kis k ghum main udas hoon

Ye meri kitaab-e-hayaat hai isay dil ki aankh say parh zara
Main wark wark teray samnay, teray rubaroo teray pass hoon

Ye teri umeed ko kia hua kabhi tu nay ghoor nahi kia
Kisi sham tu nay kaha tou tha, teri saans hoon teri aas hoon

Ye teri judai ka ghum nahi ye silsilay tou hain roz k
Teri zaat is ka sabab nahi, kaie dinon say youn he udas hoon

Kisi aur ki aankh say deakh kar mujhay aisay waisay laqab na day
Tera Aitabaar hoon Jana-e-man na gumaan hoon na qayaas hoon
