Mazaj hum se ziada juda na thaa uska
jab apny taor yahi they tu kia gila uska

wo apny zoam maiN tha be-khabar raha mujse
usay gumaN bhe nahi maiN nahi raha uska

ye ehl-e-dard bhe kisski duhaii dety haiN
wo chup bhe ho to zamana hai humnawa uska

humi ne tark-e-ta'aluq maiN pehl ki k Faraz
woh chahta thaa magar hosla na tha uska
