Guraiz shab se, seher se kalam rakhtay thay
kabhi woh din thay ke zulfon mein sham rakhtay thay

tumharay haath lagay hein tou jo karo so karo
werna tum se tou ham so ghulam rakhtay thay

hamein bhi ghair liya ghar ke zo’am ne, tou khula
kuch aur log bhi is mein qayam rakhtay thay

yeh aur baat ke hamein dosti na raas aayee
hawa thi saath to khushboo muqam rakhtay thay

na janay konsi rut mein bichar gaye woh log
jo apney dil mein bohot ehtaram rakhtay thay

woh aa tou jata kabhi ham us ke raston pe
diye jalaye hue subh-o-shaam rakhtay thay
