First, a speeding train had kissed him
Then the mother earth embraced him How did he feel the rising crescendo Of the clackety clackety of the train wheels And then the opaque darkness of the death-tunnel Perhaps a thousand doubts wracked his brains The futility of it, the quintessential absurdity Of being alive, this side of the world And now, the ludicrous illogic of death He had made a mangled mess of his life Did it matter whether he had existed or For that matter, whether he embraced death?
