اس دنیا کی رونقوں میں
ہنستے بولتے چہروں کے میلوں میں
خوشی سے دمکتے مسکراتے چہرے
بہت دیکھے میں نے

مگر

وہ ایک چاند چہرہ
جس کا ظاہر
ایک عجب انتہا کی خوشی تھا
ایک عجب انتہا کی اداسی بھی
بس گیا میرے خیالوں میں
میں نے پوچھا اُس سے
بہت خوش ھو
کہنے لگی "ھاں"
میری محبت آج بہت خوش ھے

مگر

میں نے چونک کر اُسے دیکھا
بڑے کرب سے کہا اُس نے
اپنی محبت کے پاس
