Google D4G India Winner Announced Today

Doodle4Google Competition 2010 on Children's Day in India:
The major search Engine Google has announced the launch of its 2nd Doodle 4 Google (D4G) competition in India to celebrate the Children's Day on 14th November 2010.The winner's doodle appearing on www.google.co.in on November 14, 2010, the star Doodler will receive a technology starter package including a laptop, a year’s Internet connection and a Rs 2,000,00 technology grant for the school that he or she will represent, said the statement.All the final entries will be exhibited for public voting and based on the number of votes, one winner from each category will be selected. Each of these winners will receive a laptop. Dennis Hwang, the original Google Doodler, will then choose the final winning Doodle from the total 45 finalists.

Akshay Raj from Mangalore (Karnataka) WON the Doodle 4 Google(D4G) contest
Akshay Raj studying in 9th Standard at St Aloysius High School has lived up to the expectation of his parents, teachers and well wishers by winning First place in Google Doodles contest. He was announced winner at the meeting held in Mumbai earlier this morning, where Mr. Rob, art guru from Google group was present to announce the winner.
He was one among the fifteen finalists in his group and voting decided the final winner.
A total number of 1,08,000 entries were received and 600 semifinalists were chosen in three groups by a panel of celebrity judges. Akshay's doodle was selected as the winning entry from the final round of 15 entries in his group by voting. He was also declared the National winner among the three finalists.
