Roh be-chain dil udas bohat hai

bujh gai hai shama-e-umeed aur aas bohat hai

ye dard-e-judai ye hijar ke lamhe

ye fiqar ka musam mujhe raas bohat hai

samandar ke kinare betha hoon phir bhi

sookhe hain mere hont aur piyas bohat hai

diye jab gham tu kuch na socha usne

ujar gaye hum tu usay ehsas bohat hai....
