Us ne kaha mujh se kitna pyar hai,
maine kaha sitaron ka koi shumar hai?

us ne kaha ke koun tumhe hai bhut aziz,
maine kaha ke dil par jis ka ikhtiyar hai,

us ne kaha ke kon sa taufa hai manpasand?
maine kaha wo sham jo ab tak odar hai,

us ne kaha khazan main mulaqat ka jawaz
maine kaha ke qurb ka matlb bahar hal,

us ne kaha sainkaron ghum zindagi main hain,
maine kaha ke ghum nahi jab ghum gazar ho,

us ne kaha sath kahan tak nibhao ge
maine kaha ke jitni sanson ki taar hai,

us ne kaha mujh ko yaqeen aye kis tarha,
maine kaha ke nam mera aitabar hai...
