New C.I.A. Drone Attack Draws Rebuke From Pakistan

WASHINGTON — C.I.A. drones fired two missiles at militants in Pakistan’s tribal areas on Wednesday, two days after Pakistan’s spy chief threatened to curtail the drone strikes and demanded more information about the Central Intelligence Agency’s operations there.

Babar Awan resigns to plead Bhutto case
South Asian News Agency (SANA) ⋅ April 14, 2011

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Federal Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Babar Awan presented his resignation before the Supreme Court during the hearing of reopening of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto trial.

“I will fully cooperate with the honourable court in this case. The top brass of PPP will remain present amid hearing of this reference case as per directives of President Zardari,” Awan noted.

He said that ‘I have completed preparations to restore my membership of Supreme Court, adding that he would attend tomorrow’s hearing being a lawyer and would end this story on merit.

He also thanked Pakistan People’s Party Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani for giving him the task to represent Bhutto in the court. Babar Awan said that his resignation has been approved and his legal practice licence was restored.

It is worth mentioning that President Asif Ali Zardari has sent reference to Supreme Court (SC) under article 186 of the constitution. The SC has been prayed in this reference to give its opinion for reopening Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case.
