The driverless car is just about ready to go for a spin
Swiss car maker Rinspeed unveiled their XchangE concept car at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week.

The autonomous car is the ideal vehicle for someone who wants all the luxuries of owning an automobile but doesn’t want to spend any time actually driving it.
“Travelling in a driverless car will no longer require me to stare at the road, but will let me spend my time in a more meaningful way,” the company’s founder and chief executive Frank Rinderknecht told the BBC.
“The question then arises, would I like to work, to sleep, to read, to do whatever activities you might do on a train, a plane?”
While passengers would still have the option to drive the XchangE if they so fancied, they can also rotate and tilt their seats into one of 20 positions, including one that would allow them face the back of the car.
Why would they someone want to do this, you may ask? So they can comfortably nap or take in a movie on a supplied 32-inch screen, of course.

An entertainment system isn’t the only high-tech feature the XchangE packs, it also has gadgets like tablets and a Carl F Bucherer wristwatch implanted in a transparent globe.
Despite the fact that its luxe cabin is more like that of a private plane than a car, the XchangE was constructed out of an already-existing automobile body – the Tesla Model S.
While the concept is proof that an autonomous car isn’t that far off, it should be noted that the vehicle is still in experimental stages.
