Surah 45 AL-JAATHIYAH-The message before which all nations will kneel after trying all their ways to live
This surah is named AL-JAATHIAA from root JEEM, THAA and WOW or YAA. Concrete meaning of this root is to be on one’s knees due to degeneration or deterioration. A pile of rubbish or sand or stones or rocks. A mound, a grave mound, a small hill or dune, kneeling down or bowing down or bending under pressure, humbled, defeated, vanquished, groups of people or camels. To be in state of humiliation, debased, deformed, dysfunctional etc etc.
This surah is named AL-JAATHIAH because the Quran talks about nations in sense of their rise or fall and the reasons behind their rise and fall. People are told that no matter what they do they will be ultimately humbled by set-up systems and laws of Allah and they will have to come to way of life advised by Allah because all their self adopted ways of life will leave them in lurch. This surah leaves people in no doubt that right to rule this world only and only belongs to Allah. This is why it is better that people learn things and accept this truth and follow the given program so that they could land themselves in blissful and dignified life. There is no sense in fighting against the advised way of life and devised systems and laws of Allah because that only delays unity between people for peace therefore progress and prosperity. Not only that but also keeps mankind in permanent uncertainty and painful suffering.
Proclaim! In the name of Allah, the provider of psychological, sociological and biological needs of mankind,
1] HAA MEEM.
2] This book is sent by Allah, the mighty wise ruler of this kingdom.
3] Surely in the kingdom of the heavens and the earth there are evidences about it for those who want to committed to working for peace, progress and prosperity of mankind.
4] Evidences are also there in your own evolution as well as in the evolution of animals that are scattered throughout the earth for those who wish to verify them to attain certainty.
5] Moreover in the phenomenon of alternation of the night and the day and in the process of sustenance that Allah sends down from the heaven through rain and shine with which He revives the earth after its death as well as in the variations of the atmosphere there are lessons to observe and learn for those who use their intelligence to understand things.
6] These are revelations of Allah which We recite to you for the purpose of guidance of mankind. So according to which other testimony other than that of Allah will they commit to working for peace, progress and prosperity of mankind?
7] It is a bad news for future of every inventor of falsehood against Allah who invents it to use it to abuse rights of others.
8] Before whom the revelations of Allah are proclaimed and he hears them yet out of sense of domination he acts as though he heard them not, so announce to such a one the news of coming of painful suffering.
9] Moreover when he becomes aware of things from Our revelations, he takes them for a joke therefore for these like people there is going to be a humiliating doom.
10] Before them lies future full of fire of hatred, because they have not done anything to benefit humanity to benefit from themselves in return, nor have those whom they take as their rulers instead of Allah so they are bound to end up in grave suffering in due course.
11] This Quran is full of guidance for mankind so those who oppose its set goals and guidelines by their Creator and Sustainer, for them life is going to be full of painful suffering.
12] It is Allah Who has given you capability to make use of sea so that you could use ships to travel through it according to His set-up systems and laws so that you could seek His provision and so that you use the provision properly for the benefit of mankind.
13] Likewise you have been given the capability by Him to make use of all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth altogether. Surely in all this there are lessons to observe and learn from for those who think.
14] Say to those who commit to working for peace, progress and prosperity of humanity, put up with harmful and destructive mindsets, attitudes and behaviours of those who do not look forward to days when kingdoms of Allah will become established, so that then He delivers to people the results according to their works they carry out.
15] Any who does things to help mankind grow and prosper ends up benefiting oneself. Likewise any who does things to harm and destroy mankind ends up harming and destroying oneself therefore eventually you will all end up turning to guidance of your Creator and Sustainer.
16] That is why We gave Our book to the children of Israel through Our prophet-hood to establish Our kingdom so that We provide them with things that help them develop and prosper, and that is how We raised them above the nations in the world.
17] Moreover We gave them clear instructions relating all affairs concerning the way of life. They did not create divisions among themselves but due to ignorance about the book because they did not learn it as they were supposed to after the scriptural knowledge had come to them, out of rivalry and animosity among themselves based upon personal gains. Surely your Creator and Sustainer will settle the matter between them on the day of uprising over which they have become divided.
How the divisions are settled between the people? In two ways a) through education if people are willing to learn or b) through end results of peoples’ own actions. Their actions either lead them to establishment of divine kingdom or land them into painful suffering with no end in sight. As things get worse time arrives for uprisings and upheavals leading to instability and bloody revolutions. Phrase YAWMAL QIYAAMAH has two concepts hidden in it a) the period in which DEEN of Allah will become established in the land and b)when people in the land will rise up against oppression and suppression by their rulers and uproot it. This uprooting could also lead to establishment of divine rule.
18] In due course We put you the messenger on the proper way of life through Our revelation therefore stick to it and yield not to the harmful and destructive ambitions and desires of those who have no proper knowledge about living their lives.
19] They can do nothing to benefit you if you decide to live your life the way they do. Surely those who inflict harm and destruction upon each other some of them support each other for that kind of life. However Allah supports those who are consistent with His guidance and each other.
20] This Quran contains eye opening evidences for mankind as well as guidance in form of blissful and dignifying program for the people who wish to verify them to attain certainty.
21] Do those who inflict harm and destruction upon mankind think that We will deliver them identical outcome for their actions to those who commit to working for peace, progress and prosperity of mankind and carry out works that help human community grow and prosper as if their living and their dying is for the very same goal? What an erroneous thought they have!
22] Behold! Allah has created the heavens and the earth for the set purpose so that each person is delivered the outcome of his actions according to his works so that none is inflicted with any harm or loss.
This like verses in the Quran keep telling mankind that works of Allah are not random rather the whole things is set-up in such a way that it serves the divine purpose by working systematically and methodically. This is why evolution is not anti Quran but according to the Quran because nature works naturally as per laws of nature. Fire burns because that is the natural state of existence of fire. Animals live the way they live because that is the way they are supposed to live. Human beings are given higher abilities than all other animals so they exist under laws of nature to a degree but they also have freedom to chose and live by moral laws. This is why they can discover how nature works and then use that information to control processes to suit themselves to much higher degree than all other animals. So there are natural actions and reactions as well as actions and reactions involving thought process which modify responses. For example, if one person slaps another then one could slap back or let go. If one puts hand in fire it will burn but if fire could think then it could burn or not burn. If laws of nature were not set the way they have been then life would have become impossible because one could then not predict things therefore could not rely on anything. For example, if fire produced heat at will randomly then we will not be able to rely on fire for its heat and so we could not cook food or properly. One time you switched on fire and placed your teapot on for tea it worked and the next time it did not then making tea would become a problem. Likewise if you drank water to quench your thirst, it worked sometimes and sometimes it did not then that would not be helpful. So laws of nature are very helpful in our existence because they do what we expect them to do. We expect them to do things only because in our life experiences they prove reliable. This is why mullah based interpretations of the scriptures are problematic because they do not take into account things without which we cannot do. The universe created by Allah is not a randomly functioning thing but a properly designed and set-up thing that works according to divine plan, set-up systems, mechanism and laws to serve divine purpose.
23] Have you considered the case of such an individual who has chosen to be ruled by his own harmful and destructive ambitions and desires so Allah has let him remain stray based on his own information and understanding of it. That is how He let his awareness remain limited due to his mindset and He let a defect remain in his understanding of things. So who can guide such a person after he has moved away from provided guidance of Allah? Why don’t you people then learn the message properly and spread it for benefit of mankind?
24] The opponents of Our guidance say, the existence of the world has no purpose to it, we live and die and nothing causes us to grow old and weak other than time. The fact is, they have no information and understanding about this whole affair instead they just conjecture and rely on their baseless guesses.
25] When Our statements based upon clear evidences are proclaimed to them, they have no other argument but say, bring back the glory our forefathers used to enjoy if what you claim about this program of yours is true!
26] Say, it is program of Allah that gives you rise when you act upon it and lets you fall when you ignore it as a people that is how He gathers you on the day of uprising and upheavals in which there is no doubt but most of the people bother not to learn things so they remain ignorant about all this.
27] To Allah alone belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. At the day when the promised moment will become obvious, those who invent and follow falsehood will be in loss.
28] You the mankind will see every nation that invents and follows falsehood on its knees due to poverty and degeneration. Every nation will be invited to pay attention to its own social contract and it will be said, from now on you should be rewarded properly for whatever works you do.
29] This book of Ours the Quran tells you the truth that We will surely replace the way you do things.
30] So those who commit to working for unity, peace, progress and prosperity of mankind and do works that help humanity develop and prosper their Creator and Sustainer puts them through His blissful and dignifying program and that makes their achievement manifest.
31] But those who oppose Our revelations, Allah will say to them, were My revelations not proclaimed to you? But you the people were taken over by sense of dominating each other by undermining each other so you ended up committing crimes against each other.
32] When it was said to you, the promise of Allah is true and there is no doubt in the coming of the promised moment, you used to say, we do not know what the promised moment is, we think it is just your own self created concept, so we are not convinced about your claim.
33] That is why the harm and destruction that is result of their own actions will become manifest for them and they will be completely encircled by that at which they laugh.
34] It will be said to them on Our behalf by Our missionaries at the time, now We leave you to yourselves as you ignored meeting Our set standard for you so fire of hatred is your aboard and there is none to help you out of it.
35] This is because you took revelations of Allah for a joke and you let the life based upon personal gains lead you away from the path We advised for you. During that time of upheavals they will not be taken out of fire of hatred between themselves because they will not have given themselves the time to amend their ways.
36] Behold! Sovereignty belongs to Allah alone, the creator and the sustainer of the heavens and the creator and the sustainer of the earth as well as the creator and the sustainer of all the nations in the world.
37] With Him alone rests sovereignty in the heavens and the earth because He is the mighty wise ruler of the kingdom of the universe.
