In a mission called “The Redbull Stratos”, former Austrian military parachutist, Felix Baumgartner, dives from a balloon-lifted capsule 24 miles up in an attempt to break the sound barrier on 14 Oct 2012. The operation was a success with Felix setting a few Guinness world records in the process. Here are some of the pictures from this momentous achievement.
