jal bin machhli terpe

jal na le usse apne pass

ye jal kyn naa jane

uss machhli ki pyaas

dheere dheere andhera chhae

us ki aankhe jilmilaaen

bannd hoti annkho se

dekhe machhli jaal ki orr

jaane kesi baat hai in mai

bas ik yaas hai in mai

uss ke sapne toot gae

sab khwaab annkho se chhoot gae

be chaini be qrari bherti jaae

bas hai lamhe bher ki baat

hai khari mut us ke aas paas

zindagi se ha bass pal bher ka saath

jo jal naa itna zaalim hota

tu aaj us machhli ka rang b sunehraa hota
