Ex-MD of PTV Aslam Azhar passes away at 83
 

Former Managing Director (MD) of Pakistan Television, Aslam Azhar – considered to be the father of PTV – passed away on Tuesday at the age of 83.
His funeral prayers will be offered in the federal capital on Wednesday. Also read: Gone Too Soon: Stars We Lost In 2015
Born in Lahore to a government servant in British India, Azhar studied law at Cambridge University and later worked for the Burmah Oil Company.
After Joining PTV in 1964, he took it to great heights. He was given “Tamgha-e-Pakistan” for his services in 1968.
