Ufone tests for Summer internship Program SIP 2013 Result
ISLAMABAD: Ufone has conducted online tests of more than 1,196 students from major universities for its summer internship program (SIP) 2013 announced in April this year.
Following the success of its SIP 2012, Ufone re-launched the program for 2013, which commenced in April at the national level with campus drives being held across the country during which students were required to take a test and give interviews for a final selection.
Interns selected through this program will get exposure to real-time projects for a period of six to eight weeks. This process has already been completed in 10 universities and 1,196 candidates appeared for the test but only 435 could manage to succeed. Almost 100 candidates have already been interviewed, but the final selection would be done after the completion of the entire drive.
Final list of internees will be made after selecting top students through extensive online test, competency-based screening and panel interviews. Till date the SIP drive has been carried out in universities including Bahria, Quaid-i-Azam, Iqra, Fast, NUST-NBS, NUST-SEECS and SZABIST in Islamabad, LUMS, FAST, BNU in Lahore and IBA Karachi.
Several internees, who attended SIP 2012, have been employed fulltime at Ufone after the completion of their internships.Students – who are in sixth or seventh semester of bachelor’s programme or studying in masters with minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 – can apply for the programme. Besides, they should not be employed in other company. Aqeel Israr, senior lecturer at Bahria University, said that this internship program would help polish the talented and educated youth in the country.
