It is comfortably known
there is no rose without a thorn
it stings with all the good intention
the second you don’t pay attention.

This doesn’t mean you hate the flower
every minute of the hour

nor makes it less appealing
to smell or sight or healing.

You hit the road or eat the ground
pull up your chin pretend you’re proud
until you learn how to forgive
resentment tells you how to live.

Next thing you know is boiling anger
it sticks to you like being canker
and always try another start
leaving behind a bleeding heart.

We’re only humans in the end
please, learn how to forgive a friend!
