Care of feet this Monsoon
The biggest skin complaint during the monsoon has to be fungal infections. A fungus thrives in humidity -- wet skin folds rubbing against each other get macerated easily, providing easy entry to fungi and yeast. As a result, you develop itchy, circular, reddish, flaking patches on the body, especially on your feet.Fungal infections can also affect your feet, especially if you wear closed shoes all day. Here are simple solutions to keep your feet beautiful and supple.
Infections:
High humidity provides favorable conditions for breeding bacteria and fungi. Ensure air- drying of areas like underarms, groins before putting on clothes. If stuck in rains, ensure that as soon as indoors, treat your skin to a warm water bath and thoroughly dry the body before wearing clothes.
If you have tendency to develop fungal infections, use a special anti-fungal powder in the body folds (under arms, groins, between the toes etc) for prevention.
Care of Feet
* Effective cleansing of feet is very important as they would be exposed to lot of grime and muck
* Do not forget to completely dry your feet so as to prevent fungal infections
* Avoid wearing boots as these would hold water for longer duration slogging your feet
* Effective cleansing of inside of your nails using orange stick dipped in hydrogen-peroxide would help prevent nail infections
* Home pedicure to be done once a week would consist of soaking feet in warm water to which you can add 3-4 drops of Salon, for 15-20 minutes, followed by cleansing the inside of the nails with orange stick dipped in hydrogen peroxide and scrubbing the feet with foot scrapper. Complete the pedicure by applying light glycerin based moisturizer
* When you go for pedicure to a beautician, ensure that the instruments used are sterilized/ cleansed with disinfectants, if possible use your personal instruments. Also instruct your aestheticism to avoid pushing of the cuticles as toe nail fungal infections are very common in monsoons.
