Patisa
Ingredients for "Patisa"
Gram flour - 1¼ cups
Plain flour - 1¼ cups
Ghee/Butter - 250 gm
Sugar - 2½ cups
Water - 1½ cups
Milk - 2 Tablespoons
Cardamom seeds - ½ teaspoon, crushed coarsely
Charmagaz (melon seed) - 2 teaspoons
4-inch squares cut from a thin polythene sheet
Method of cooking "Patisa"
Sieve both flours together.
Heat ghee/butter in a heavy saucepan.
Add flour mixture and roast on low heat till light golden.
Leave aside to cool a little, stirring occasionally.
Prepare syrup simultaneously.
Take sugar and water in the ratio of 2:1½
Put both in a deep saucepan to boil, stirring occasionally.
